In order to help you understand your anaesthetic we have provided some answers to commonly asked questions in our Anaesthetic FAQs & Info section. If you are contemplating surgery or are scheduled for an operation already, you may find answers to any questions you have here. If you still have any questions, please do not hesitate to Contact Us.
If you want to find out more about anaesthesia in general, we have provided links to documents provided by the Royal College of Anaesthetists on the Anaesthetic FAQs & Info tab too. These documents are written for patients and their relatives and provide comprehensive explanations to a wide range of anaesthetic related issues.
If you have already booked to have surgery using our anaesthetic services it is important that you complete a Pre-Anaesthetic Questionnaire (before the day of your operation. This enables us to pre-empt any potential problems and arrange any tests that may be necessary. If we do not receive this information from you ahead of your operation date, then we cannot promise that surgery will go ahead on the day, as we may need more information or investigations before we can proceed safely.
The easiest way to complete your Pre-Anaesthetic Questionnaire is ONLINE, via our Pre-Operative Assessment page.
Alternatively, you can print out a paper copy of our form to complete and post back to us. You may receive a paper form along with the other paperwork from your surgeon, but you can still use the online version if you prefer.
If you would like to know more about our fee structure you can read our section on Fees or email our Practice Manager for more personal advice.
