Dr Harikumar Sivakumar

Dr Harikumar Sivakumar (Hari) qualified in Medicine and gained his Anaesthetic Diploma and Masters in India.  He has also completed the European Diploma in Anaesthesia and Intensive care.

He joined the anaesthetic department at Broomfield Hospital in 2014 as a Specialty doctor. He was awarded the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Anaesthesia in June 2021 and was immediately appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthetics at Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation trust.

Hari’s main area of expertise is ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia. He also has a keen interest in Intravenous Anaesthetic techniques (TIVA).  He is the Clinical Lead in anaesthesia for Electro-convulsive therapy at the Linden centre.

 
Hari also has a keen interest in teaching and has been involved in a number of multidisciplinary teaching activities including teaching medical students, midwives, ODP students and Nurses.

Outside of anaesthesia Hari is an avid cook who loves to experiment with his culinary skills. He also has a keen interest in classical music.
